Building Condition Assessment Report Print E-mail

Now that the St. Rose is designated as a historic site on the National Register of Historic Places, there are more grant opportunities available for the entire site. We decided that a Building Condition Assessment was the next responsible step needed to ensure that we weren’t overlooking any major long term preservation needs. After researching multiple grant application options, we applied for and received aBuilding Condition Assessment Grant through the Minnesota Historical and Cultural Heritage Program. Once we received permission to commence work, we researched several architectural firms that qualified to conduct such an assessment. After reviewing three potential firms, we choose Collaborative Design Group, an architectural firm with extensive experience in historic preservation. The grant submission required a significant amount research about the history of St. Rose and documentation through historic photos in order to submit our final application.

The result is a seventy-two page document that details critical needs and assigns each with a level of importance and estimated cost. This provides structure and a priority list on how to proceed.  You can view the report by clicking here.
